Description[]
The F-22 Raptor is a twin-engine, fifth-generation fighter incorporating stealth technology. Its primary role is air superiority, but if needed, it can conduct operations involving ground attack, Electronic Warfare (EW) or Signals Intelligence (SIGINT). The stealth and maneuverability of the F-22 are among its greatest selling points, being able to supercruise and both perform high-alpha maneuvers and maintain a high degree of control at both subsonic and supersonic speeds.
Proposals for strike-oriented variants of the F-22 were made as part of the Next-Generation Bomber (Also known as Interim Bomber) program as a guide-in to the Long-Range Strike-B program.
The first F-22 design was revealed on Twitter in 16 August 2013, showing the F-22A. In 10 January 2014, additional variants were officially announced with the release of Report 44.
