
The Model 21 is a prototype of the experimental A-12 bomber.
Description[]
Developed for military testing under the Advanced Tactical Aircraft (ATA) program, It successfully passed numerous weaponry and airframe stress trials and led to the selection of the A-12 Avenger for a carrier-based strike aircraft. Airframe characteristics are largely unchanged from its predecessors with the exception of the tandem cockpit housing one pilot and one flight assessor tasked with evaluating aircraft performance.
